Tokyo-based record label Nocturnal Technology return with the spectral transmission ‘Organs‘, the latest cassette album from Albino Sound and Mars89.
Having graced forward-thinking imprints including Modern Obscure Music and P-Vine Records, Albino Sound’s deft touch finds its perfect foil in Mars89’s unrelenting edge. Together, they craft unhinged soundscapes that feels less like a collection of tracks and more like an immersive descent into a machine-made underworld.
Recorded in a single-session, the duo unveil a dystopian fever dream, deploying a molten amalgam of post-industrial EBM, darkwave techno and mutant bass oddities forged in the crucible of an after-dark Tokyo basement.
‘Psychiatric Deviance‘ stands thanks to delayed frequencies, wrapping listeners in ultra-wired mechanical intelligence. As it unfolds, the track feels like wandering through corroded industrial corridors, where the shadows play host to superlunary creatures. The track escalates into a whirlwind of warped percussion, earth-shaking basslines and half-deciphered vocals that shimmer and dissolve like fleeting phantoms.
‘Organs‘ is scheduled for release 9th January via Nocturnal Technology. Order a cassette copy from Bandcamp.
