Veering through mind-altering states of trance over the past three years, Ukrainian platform Penumbrum unleash their debut compilation with all proceeds to be donated to Ukrainian military charity Port Frankivsk.
Spanning 16-tracks, the compilation brings together a syndicate of world-class producers exploring a select brew of ambient ballads, trippy downtempo, trance extravaganza and neo-balearic oddities. Contributors include Kalahari Oyster Cult’s affiliate Volodymyr Gnatenko, Kyiv-based maverick tofudj, Trommel renegade Komponente and Melbourne-based duo Hybrid Man.
Our pick is ‘Dawn (revised)‘ by Greek producer Anatolian Weapons. Featuring lustrous bells and superlunary synths, Anatolian Weapons concocts the ultimate acid-infused potion for the heroes of warfare.
‘V/A – Compilation For Ukraine’ is scheduled for release on 20th April via Penumbrum. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
