After a flurry of choice platters for Finest Hour, Rue De Plaisance, Finale Sessions and obviously, their own imprint BCR, French duo Arcarsenal return stronger than ever on Chez Damier’s vinyl only sister-label Inner Balance with ‘Alter Realities’, due out in the last days of May.
Knit together with defunct Berlin-based record store Bass Cadet and the eponymous label which they co-animate, Alan Mathias and Etienne Dauta have been key players to the European deep house game over the last five years.
Versatile but focused, minimal yet transdimensional, their work shines high by its ability to enhance the garden-variety deep and dubby house journey with a truly soulful approach, breathing in further elan vital through its shapely curtain of sleek synth modulations and supple bass moves. On ‘The Vessel‘ particularly, the pair allow their hectic sense of the groove explose in a wealth of silky textures, sustained rhythmic pulsations and minutely-incorporated reverbs.
