Three years after their inaugural release, Lyon-based Mélopée Records return with a 4-track extended player from the razor-sharp duo Back From The Wave and Endrik Schroeder.
Following appearances on Nein Records, San Francisco-based Roam Recordings and Dutch imprint Bordello A Parigi – ‘Raw‘ dives deep into the archives of 90’s rave maniacs. Spread across 4-tracks, Back From The Wave and Endrik Schroeder deliver a refined capsule of acid techno laced with dark italo aesthetics, 4/4 dynamo rhythms and 303 acid soundscapes. Ahead of that come two head banging remixes from French-Brazilian duo Nouveau Futur and Slow Motion head honcho Fabrizio Mammarella.
Our pick from the release is Fabrizio Mammarella’s version of ‘Acid Control‘ – thanks to his italo-techno signature amplified with drops of acid basslines, hot-headed breaks, and sedative vocals. If you were in the Genesis’88 crew that used to break into abandoned warehouses, play it loud and shed a tear of nostalgia.
