Since its launch four years ago, Parisian imprint Camisole Records has maintained a steady stream of releases, sharing its activity between the reissuing of long hard-to-find gems and leading-edge contemporary material. If 2018 has proven to be another fruitful year for the French imprint with a pair of EPs from Shelter and Coldreams, plus a choice VA of ’80s electronic library music, it’s now with a new sub-label that Camisole’s set to make some more – highly surfable – waves.
First release to land on Silver Fox Production, the eccentric ‘Arm To Body‘ 12″ comes courtesy of mysterious duo Barnes & Wobble, about whom very little is known except they had their debut EP ‘Sans Algarade‘ released on Edits Du Plaisir earlier this year. Lifted from the present maxi, our premiere ‘Thick Thick Thick (Arm To Body Extension Mix)‘ finds Barnes (solo this time) dishing out an “industrial kangaroo rampage” of distorted riffs, weird vox hoots and raucous analogue spurts rebooted into a mesmeric, LSD-fed sound matrix. Fitting somewhere between Black Dice and Dan Deacon, this trippy, bouncy, all-round hyper dynamic melter knows no rest. Killer stuff.
Arm To Body 12″ is released via Camisole Records on 23rd November, pre-order a copy from Red Eye Records.
