Berlin-based duo crouds formed in 2017 with the objective of focussing on live improvisational performance. Andreas Schuller and Jay Nagel have been honing their sound since then, releasing their debut EP on Neuzeit Recordings in 2019. A follow-up EP landed on Intumi and the duo also remixed ‘Missing‘ for techno powerhouse Truncate last year.
Schuller and Nagel are also part of Sonic Ground Kollektiv, an outfit who, in normal times, organise workshops and club nights. In spite of the current situation, crouds have kept the momentum up recently, appearing on Munich’s Molten Moods and now, present a four-track excursion for fellow Münchners RFR.
Similarly to their previous output, ‘Orange Blood’ keeps our memories of the dancefloor very much alive. Our pick ‘No Service’ is a bass-heavy, UK flavoured number, undoubtedly one of the highlights of the crouds catalogue thus far.
‘Orange Blood’ is out 4 March via RFR. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
