Five years after their inaugural release, New-York based imprint Down Jazz return with a six-tracks remix EP – courtesy of P-Funk supergroup Detroit Rising – showcasing a batch of UK’s sound pioneers.
Consisting of 6 tracks, ‘Rocket Love‘ comes after Detroit Rising previously released album ‘A Cosmic Jazz Funk Adventure‘ in 2018. The remix compilation brings together CoOp’s affiliate EVM128, legendary multi-instrumentalist Kaidi Tatham previously making moves under the moniker Bugz In The Attic or 4 Hero, soulful producer Sean McCabe and Delusions Of Grandeur’s mastermind Jimpster. Essentially, it’s a cosmic jazz-boogie OST, divinely mastered by Atjazz for the astronomical dreamers.
Our pick from the release is Jimpster’s interpretation of ‘Rocket Love‘ – starting with infectious kickdrums and subaqueous bass grooves entangled by interplanetary synthesizers and high-spirited spoken word. Jimpster did it again, a special tip for all soulful heads.
