Marking a decade of boundary-pushing releases, Scottish record label Craigie Knowes prepare to release ‘Sceptical Soul‘ EP from Glasgow-based DJ and producer Domenic Cappello.
Following a string of releases on Alien Communications and Scottish imprint Nautilus Rising, Cappello flexes his genre-hopping expertise across four tracks that shimmer with an interstellar allure, pulling dancers into a gravitational force of Detroit-tinged techno, acid house and synth-laden textures. ‘Sceptical Soul‘ is a club-focused prophecy that doesn’t just transcend generation gaps, it rewrites the rules of interplanetary dancefloor communion.
Our pick from the release is ‘Sunrise On Saturn‘, a track that plunges the audience into a neo-baroque techno dreamscape where soft, pulsating rhythms set the stage. The atmosphere brims with doom-laden organ swells, evoking the quiet majesty of the cosmos. As the track evolves, these elements erupt into a dazzling cascade of semi-acid arpeggios, crafting a mind-bending vision of dawn breaking over the rings of Saturn.
‘Sceptical Soul‘ EP is scheduled for release 20th January via Craigie Knowes. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
