Premiere: Don Kashew – Supermarché

Since 2019, Subject To Restrictions Discs have been pushing the kind of eerie leftfield electronics that we’re big fans of. With Dominik André at the helm, the label has had a fine hit rate when it comes to releasing moody machine jams.

The label now inaugurates their white label series with a three track salute from Don Kashew. On ‘White Series #1’, the Zurich-based DJ and producer conjures up spine-chilling musical malaise bound to instill a sense of paranoia in the listener.

On the A1, our hero searches for the last open ‘Supermarché‘, a poignant narrative given the realities of the past year. And even for listeners for whom these vocals simply perform an instrumental function, the French tongue is undeniably emotive, a perfect pairing for the producer’s thrift-store drums and horror show synths, both of which seem close to breaking point.

‘White Series #1’ is scheduled for release 30 April via Subject To Restrictions Discs. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
