Newcastle-based label Ape-X — who operate nights under the Apex moniker — sign Northern England’s Dufraine for a three-track extended player entitled ‘Index’, polished off with a fun remix from 1-800 Girls.
Apex’s label, born after over a decade of parties in Newcastle, carries the energy of their nights: light-hearted dancefloor material with spades of that undeniably fun UK sound. Dufraine’s material doesn’t deviate from this pattern, and will stoke the fires of enthusiasm for shifting dancefloors up and down the country.
London-based producer 1-800 Girls, tasked with remixing EP highlight ‘Universal‘, has crafted a perfect-fit puzzle piece for the release. Bolstered by the artist’s digital sound, his remix works with the best of Dufraine’s original: hefty sawtooth basslines and twisted vocal samples bound across the almost UKG backbone, determined to get you moving.
‘Index’ EP’is out now via Ape-X Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
