Premiere: Eight In The Room – Imagine

Brooklyn-based record label Toucan Sounds ready their next dispatch ‘Eight In The Room’, the shape-shifting, sweat-laced extended player from Portland-raised and now CDMX-based producer Dorian Duvall.

Formerly operating under the dream-funk alias Mirror Gazer, Duvall steps into full-blown dancefloor tactician mode on this seven-track release. Here, he gleefully erases genre roadmaps – bridging Baltimore club kinetics, euphoric breaks and high-octane house romance with the flair of a scientist spiralling through a mirrorball dimension. It’s a rave suite for bodies in motion and minds mid-melt.

Our pick for the premiere, ‘Imagine’, kicks off like a UK Garage transmission heard through a metallic echo. As tension-laced arpeggios unfurl and the bassline stretches into an elastic low-end bounce, the track alters into a glowing post-industrial anthem – tailor-made for a sunrise dance beneath the strobing arches of Pula’s fortress at Outlook Festival.

‘Eight In The Room’ is scheduled for release 8th July via Toucan Sounds. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
