The main paradox with Lille-based imprint Too Many Cars Records (but also their greatest appeal) lies in the fact that they produce the kind of music that you’d definitely see yourself blasting on the autobahn with the blazing sun behind you and miles of endless asphalt arteries ahead.
After a noteworthy kick-off release this year, the French label’s already set to break the new year in with the second instalment in their VA series, ‘Heroes II‘ – featuring Mark Wilkinson under his Kid Machine alias, Bicep affiliates Sandboards, founding duo Too Many Cars and the ever dextrous and inspired Eliott Litrowski, whose contribution’s now available to stream through our channels.
Reigning above, the supreme ‘King Of The North‘ produces a striking effect out of limited means. Take an infectious bass surf, soaring kosmische keys, nasty slap-claps and tension-rising alarm signals, add to this a locomotive kind of groove and well-timed breaks, and you get a club-destroyer that no time-limit or collapsed set momentum seem capable to hogtie. Steady crusher.
Heroes II is released via Too Many Cars Records on 14th January, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
