Premiere: Erell Ranson – If We Never Try (SW. Amnesia Interpretation)

Kicked off last year with a debut EP from Jacy, Amsterdam-based imprint Kalahari Oyster Cult has since established as one of the city’s most exciting and steadily impressive new platforms, mainly thanks to its boss Colin Volvert aka Rey Colino’s flair for all things hoofing and vibey.

After a stream of releases courtesy of artists as diverse as Raymond Castoldi, Too Smooth Christ, Roza Terenzi, Urulu and Interplanetary Criminal, the label’s now all set to round the year off with a much solid remix batch of Erell Ranson’s overlooked ‘Hand In Hand‘ EP, featuring versions from DJ Normal 4, Pariah and Sued co-founder SW. On paper, massive, in reality… just as nasty for real.

Premiering through our channels today, SW.’s lavishly textured ‘Amnesia Interpretation‘ sets sail for a sense-awakening journey across halcyon seashores, secret coves and other sun-kissed blankets of white sand. As per usual with Wust, it’s all a matter of infinite subtlety and delicate balance; brittle waves of overlapping synth modulations and changing analogue motifs coalesce and dissolve as inlaid drums beat an elusive pulse in the distance. Just as instantly delightful as it is intricately woven, this one has the kind of transporting power you don’t hear everyday. Essential.

Hand In Hand – The Remixes is released via Kalahari Oyster Cult on 15th December, order a copy from Bandcamp.
