Two years after the drop of his latest solo effort on Private Persons, Berlin-based producer and L.I.E.S. affiliate Florian Kupfer returns with a new-four track 12-inch, ‘4EVA‘ EP, scheduled for release in May via Axe On Wax.
Going back to the basics of his anthemic ‘Lifetrax‘ EP, which helped establish the producer as one of the most promising talents of the house scene in 2013, Kupfer clocks in on AoW with a plain filthy platter of low-slung analogue beats, halfway Chicagoan house-inherited jacking floor dynamism and unfiltered, smokey backroom vibes.
Streaming across our channels today, the title-cut blends the opaque funk of a late-night Moodymann stoner with a gently muscular drum-shuffle a la Marcellus Pittman. Built around a throbbing 4/4 kick tailored to rattle the club’s rafters with optimum efficiency, the track then unfolds with the rowdy yet easy-going charisma of non-refined altered disco gems from the Detroit house heyday.
‘4EVA’ EP is scheduled for release 2 May 2019 via Axe On Wax.
