It was easy to see from its early days that Private Persons was evidently doing something special. The Moscow based record label has been on a steady ascent thanks to its concrete destroying aesthetic, culminating in a recent high point when their Jensen Interceptor & Assembler Code release was given a run out by Aphex Twin at Coachella.
For their latest issuing, Formally Unknown return to the imprint after a brief diversion on Dusky’s 17 Steps. This four tracker splits right down the middle–the A side tracks head for the night with crisp bass workouts, while the B side pairing have one eye on the long summer evenings with crunchy and hazy breaks coming to the fore.
It is one of the latter couple that we have chosen for our premiere with ‘Fields‘, a track that reaches out from the DJ booth to push two fingers under the chins of downwards glancing dancers and tilt those heads to the ceiling.
‘Field’ is scheduled for release 30 May 2019 via Private Persons. Order a copy from here.
