Following the release of ‘Crystal Stairs’ last October, Gecin and DJ Suzmo have assigned an international cast to rework material from their collaborative LP. While the Sample Delivery co-founders obviously have an ear for crafty sampling themselves, it seems that they also have an eye for spotting fresh talent.
Our pick comes from Berlin-based Souci, who provides a devastating re-envisioning of ‘Wai‘. Her version moves at a breakneck pace, incorporating some of the same energy that you’ll find in her sets, which can incorporate everything from jungle to trance.
A weighty kick, frantic hi-hats and hard-hitting claps mean that this one would certainly do dancefloor damage. These elements are interspersed with ethereal pads, creating an interesting sense of contrast. Souci is definitely one to watch and hopefully we hear more from her in the near future.
