Presenting the next edition of Retro Futur series, Lyon-based imprint Mélopée piece together 30 tracks to celebrate the sound of dancefloor nostalgia from a guild of international producers.
Featuring Brazilian disco freak Hoochie Coochie Papa, Toulouse-based italo monster Brandski and Bordello A Parigi’s affiliate Bizzarro Universe among others, ‘RetroFutur 2’ spans modern italo-disco, mind-warping trance and misty-eyed Euro dance. It all sounds like yesterday, from Lyon to your local discotheque.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘Crónicas Del Cosmos’ interpreted by Globemaster – a sonic utopia centred around asteroid traffickers on KELT-9b. As it features meditative synthesizers and planetary frequencies, it provides the perfect ambient soundtrack for collecting Galax urceolata shrubs.
