Quite intensely active on the digital front for a while, Aussie label Nerang Recordings successfully switched to the 12″ format since last year and the release of their debut VA instalment, followed in 2018 by no less than three outings in the series, already released or about to be. In addition to these, the label run by Christopher McIvor aka DJ Whipr Snipr recently announced the coming release of its first solo platter, courtesy of Hank Youngman, half of Adelaide-based duo Warren Raww duo alongside DJ Heure, which should hit the shelves sometime this summer.
First extract lifted from the five-track ‘Well Tempered‘ EP, which makes for Youngman’s second solo effort after a debut on Centre Source Records last year, our premiere ‘Like I Did‘ (realised in collaboration with his partner in crime of Warren Raww) is a proper toasty coastal house chiller. Blending a bouncy array of tribal drums along with a classic 4/4 stomp as prismatic synth stabs, chimes and various organic sounds, including exotic bird calls, weave a lush and hypnotising sound canvas you’ll love to immerse yourself in, this track’s a proper blissed out, 100% vibey gem.
