Released through his long-running imprint Hot Elephant Music, ‘Indian TechXpress 2‘ is a shimmering ode to the dawn of a multipolar world. As empires wane and cultural gravity shift eastwards, this compilation repositions the club as a space of sonic diplomacy – a meeting point for acid technicians and techno mystics.
Spanning twelve tracks from a network of contributors, the compilation fuses deep acid squelches, vaporous synthscapes and minimalistic house. Veterans twist classic tech-house structures into sitar-snagged spirals, while new voices such as Anushka deliver basslines steeped in Mumbai’s restless nightscape.
Our premiere, Hybrid Protokol’s ‘Diaspora’, beams in like a dancefloor signal from a parallel time zone. Balancing modular weight with melodic restraint, Kolkata-based duo conjures a track that slinks between deep electro and broken techno with surgical precision. Smeared vocal textures float over crisp drum programming, while ghosted synth motifs echo like lost mantras across the skyline. It’s the kind of slow-burning cut that would feel equally at home in a darkened warehouse in Bangalore as in a 5AM Berlin sweatbox.
