Premiere: Innershades – Revenge

For the past half decade, Thomas Blanckaert aka Innershades has been a motion-inducer for the whole Belgian underground scene, providing some of the finest outlets out there – including Crème Organization, Pinkman, Hot Haus, Huntleys & Palmers’ offshoot Belters and more – all the while helping establish younger local structures such as 9300 Records and Unknown References, home to his debut tape album ‘The Beginning Of The End‘ in 2017.

Luckily, the Aalst-based producer’s not quite close to being done with us and his 2018 season opens with a tantalising menu, amongst which a split 12″ on Scott Fraser and Tim Fairplay’s Crimes Of The Future, in addition to a fiery solo four-tracker on the ever electro-magnetic Parisian label Nocta Numerica, ‘Flanders Fields‘, due out 5th May.

Lifted from the latter, ‘Revenge‘ is a purebred electro dasher that engineers the node between a full-on dystopian ambience and laser-battle synth blasts going full force; packing up the gs before a final rush out the atmosphere and into the cosmos. Innershades ramps up the speed and gravity does the rest, the vessel’s off to an unknown galaxy rife with varicoloured tulip fields and groves, shiny glasshouses and endless flat lands. You’re into Blanckaert’s Flanders, and it’s damn intense.

Flanders Fields is released via Nocta Numerica on 5th May, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
