Now on the cusp of their seventeenth release, New York-based imprint Sheik N Beik prepare to release the nine-track ‘IVVI‘ EP – courtesy of Seattle-based techno renegade Madi Levine, better known as IVVY.
Aside from hosting the Seattle ambient festival Ground Hum and releasing tracks on Los Angeles imprint Jungle Gym and Identity Spectrum, the nighthawk producer delivers the nine-track effort ‘YVVI‘. Through a seamless fusion of infectious techno rhythms and psyched-out frequencies, IVVY imparts a set of healing incantations.
Our pick for the premiere is Bergsonist reinterpretation of ‘It Only Takes One Brick‘ – a glitchy take on nuclear-infected particles gravitating in a long-gone Midwest warehouse. Slamming down all the rules, Bergsonist sculpts a frenetic techno cut featuring trippy sound lab oscillations and neo-electro kickdrums reinforced with almost poignant arpeggios.
‘YVVI’ is scheduled for release on 2nd February via Sheik N Beik Records. Order a copy from here.
