Techno artist LDS made his 2016 debut on German label LOVEiT with ‘Fast House Series Vol. 1′, a retro-leaning split EP made in collaboration with Nico Brun. That record acted as a blueprint for a fast-paced, no-frills sound that LDS has developed further last year on ‘Zero Percent Soul’, a three-track EP that entered into darker, dub-focused territory.
The German-Italian producer’s latest offering is coming out on Transatlantic, a Dutch label that’s a joint venture from producers Nthng and Mohammed Al Hamza, set up in 2017 and focused on an amphetaminic strain of trance-tinged dub techno. ‘Dub Tapes From Outer Space’ continues that trajectory, living up to it’s name and providing a suitably stratospheric trip into the outer limits of the genre.
Today we’re bringing you an exclusive premiere of the record’s closing track, “Spacecraft To Saturn (Panorama Lounge Mix)“. Presented as an alternate mix of the B1, it’s undoubtedly the darker of the two, trading galactic phasers for vintage delays, feather-light pads and a cavernous sense of space. Like all the finest dub techno, it strikes a beautiful balance between ambience and momentum, deftly conjuring a sonic universe of it’s own.
“Dub Tapes From Outer Space” is scheduled for release 14 September 2018, order a copy here.
