Good music is one thing. Good music for a good cause is another. For the third consecutive year, Glasgow’s Craigie Knowes host their ‘Annual War Child Fundraiser‘ compilation in collaboration with the non-governmental organisation of the same name, which provides assistance to children in areas experiencing conflict and the aftermath of conflict.
Following up to a pair of instalments that saw Move D and Lord Of The Isles rub shoulders with Chaos In The CBD, Shanti Celeste and Legowelt, the Scottish label steps up with an equally palatable menu spread over two 12″s, and whose first volume features the likes of Luke Vibert, DJ Overdose, Cygnus remixed by Textasy, ASOK and London Modular Alliance. Quite the feast.
Streaming over our channels today, Vibert’s old-school belter ‘107 Acid‘ takes us straight back to the ’90s free party continuum with its sweat-inducing mashup of rough breaks, mangled vox hooks and lysergic synthwaves going full blast. A hypnotic slice of dopey junglism and reshuffled acid house, this one’s all geared towards smoking out your synapses, no matter the hour of the day.
The Third Annual War Child Fundraiser Part 1 is released via Craigie Knowes on 21st May 2018, pre-order a copy from Juno. 100% of the profit from this release will be donated to War Child, as it does every year.
