Two years after their inaugural release, London-based imprint Observatory Music prepare to release the ‘Z‘ EP – courtesy of Italian techno scientist Mattia Turchetti, better known as M.F.S: Observatory.
Following numerous appearances on Berlin-based outlet Second State, My Techno Weighs A Ton and Kneaded Pains, ‘Z‘ remains faithful to the floor-filling techno tradition. Through the five-track ‘Z‘ EP, M.F.S: Observatory takes full power responsibility back from the techno ministry with fast-paced rhythms, freaky oscillations and syncopated speeches.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘Z5‘ – a frostbound reverie controlled by mindless astronauts trapped inside corrupted satellites. Within the sleeping land, it’s a 137 BPM brokenhearted techno soundscape infused with filtered water drops, slumbering synthesizers, newborn frequencies and boisterous kickdrums.
‘Z’ EP is scheduled for release on 23rd February via Observatory Music. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
