After contributions from Design A Wave and Dreams, São Paulo based label Subsubtropics entrust their third 12″ delivery to Brazilian duo My Girlfriend. A 100% local affair, My Girlfriend is the reunion of established producer Zopelar – already responsible for the Subsubtropics-released split tape ‘Jammmmmms‘ with Seixlack two years ago – and 18 year-old prodigy Benjamin Sallum, who’s already had the occasion to make a display of his talents at RBMA 2018.

Lifted from the record, which also features an ambientish remix from IA firm favourite Ozel AB, we’re glad to share the opening track ‘Hit Cock‘ – a lashing peaktime pumper set to break upon dancefloors with the fierceness of a giant wave of 303-marinated magma. Interlarding rough-hewn 808 pulsations with abrasive bass moves on jigsaw mode, the pair deliver a proper compelling Wink-indebted burner to lose your mind to. Or to paraphrase the almighty Makaveli: “I’m the bitch that’s keepin’ it live and keepin’ it hot / when you punk ass niggas don’t“. Nuff said.
