Following releases from disco mastermind Folamour, Too Smooth Christ and Toy Tonics affiliate Felipe Gordon, French imprint Noire & Blanche deliver its ‘Various Artists Vol. 2‘ compilation.
Consisting of six tracks, the compilation includes label compeers Tell and Juravlove, Brighton-based producer Casino Times, North Of The Island and emerging sound alchemists Aguila and DJ Psychiatre. ‘Various Artists Vol. 2‘ spans eastern modern funk, lo-fi beats and jazzy deep house.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘Kit Kat’ by Manchester-based producer North Of The Island – thanks to its everlasting dark disco climax enhanced with grievous synthesizers, earthy basslines, steamy percussions and space-echoed guitar riffs. Originally crafted for sitophilia enthusiasts, it’s the ideal chocolate break soundtrack for a sit-in conversation with Austrian filmmaker Simon Thaur.
