Buenos Aires-based platform Sonôsfera teams up with Berlin’s Danzee and EX:IN | IN:EX to present ‘Music For Horses I & II‘, the latest vinyl release from Argentinian sound artist Primeiro.
A recognised figure in the avant-garde ambient scene, Primeiro has long explored the uncanny edges of sound, recently performing at La Nature Festival in Belgium and completing a tour of Italy.
Originally issued in 2023 as a limited edition vinyl and cassette, ‘Music For Horses‘ now returns in expanded form. Primeiro revisits his debut work with a majestic suite of reimagined versions, employing time-stretching, introducing drum machines, and accentuating sub-bass textures through the use of Buchla 100 and 200 modular synths.
Split across two parts, ‘Music For Horses I & II‘ draws inspiration from a horse-related accident and from Feed the River – Primeiro’s festival dedicated to creating music in relation with bodies of water. Side B, recorded prior to the accident, was released in 2023; Side A was composed in its aftermath, capturing a deeply personal shift in mood.
A standout moment from the release is the slowed-down version of ‘The Appearance‘ – a besotted medley of rearranged harp chords, warped synths, and micro-glitch drum patterns. The result is a a lofty composition of sublime ambiance.
