Introducing their inaugural release, Amsterdam-based imprint Holybro prepare to release the four-track ‘Stronger‘ EP – courtesy of Dutch DJ and producer Ray Monsieur.
Through long-lasting sessions with his Roland TR8S drum machine and the SH101 synthesizer in his attic, the four tracks of ‘Stronger‘ translate the silky aesthetics of the freshly launched imprint Holybro with a synthesis of space-out house, vaporous techno and laid-back trance. As for mixing and mastering, it’s Heist’s regular Nachtbraker.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘My Love’ – a stream of cobwebby arpeggios ushering listeners into springtime. Amidst the magic of dawn, Ray Monsieur sets the tone for a velvety destiny’s touch with muffled kickdrums, elliptic synth oscillations and distant human chants.
