RONI is excited to unveil the next instalment on her Nehza Records imprint. For the label’s second release, the Rinse France resident has invited Russian artist Rnbws who delivers a diverse batch of dancefloor styles on ‘Salvation’.
Created during the darkest days of the pandemic, the 6-track EP has a conceptual angle, seeking to explore humanity’s connection to the earth and the troubles that it faces. The A-side is more sinister and darker in tone, while the B-side tries to offer a more hopeful message. The artwork depicts a phenomenon known as rainbow swamp, which is the result of light coming into contact with natural oils from decaying vegetation.
Laced with the energy of early Prodigy, our pick comes from the B-side. ‘Untied’ is a stripped-back burner that’s brimming with punk attitude. With a chassis of slick contemporary electro, the result is a certified club bomb.
