Yekaterinburg-based musician Andrey Kurokhtin’s wears many hats in the music realm. He produces, engineers, and fixes up synths and drum machines. He also curates Hanagasumi Records, an imprint that showcases the work of like-minded electronic wanderers in addition to his solo productions as Shine Grooves. Under that alias, Kurokhtin uses his aforementioned knowledge of electronic programming to excavate sounds equally heady and dance-focused.
After previous releases with own label as well as Dusk Delay and Kimochi Sound, Shine Grooves teams up with LA-based 100% Silk for his latest release, ‘Watching The Breeze‘, a sprawling collection of IDM-laced dub techno tunes that evoke ruminative moments washed away by the waves.
On the title track, woozy synths generate a lush, dreamy atmosphere of ambient techno. Part after-hours comedown soundtrack and day rave moment of meditation, ‘Watching The Breeze‘ allows you to sit back and let the rhythm take its time to transport you to an intoxicating sonic realm.
‘Watching The Breeze’ is scheduled for release on 1st September. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
