Prague-based imprint Harmony Rec tap ISOTOOP’s rising talent Shoal for their next 12” release. Having warmed up Under The Desert Stars with an ambient set, it’s exciting to see the Utrecht newcomer stretch out into broader realms of dance music delivering four tracks of deep techno, hypnotic overtones and plenty of character.
Our pick, ‘Kron’, carries the darkest overtones of the four tracks. Kicking off with a propulsive bassline, the track swiftly submerges the listener in deep bass punches and dark vibrations, summoning images of strobe-lit bodies gyrating in humid tunnels. Tactile snares highlight the upper frequencies in a shimmering dance as the track presses forward, bending its way through pace and tension. Before you realise, you’ve danced the entire way through.
