Premiere: Small Crab – Glucosides

Manchester-based record label Left, Right & Centre enlist rising talent Small Crab for their next release. Fresh off the back of an EP on Marie Montexier’s Paryìa imprint, the Dublin-based producer and DJ’s latest effort contains two slabs of confounding club pressure.

Small Crab offers up two approaches to bass-heavy club music on this release. Each takes a different tack when it comes to tempo, but there’s a continuity in texture and tone on both of these dark and detailed tracks.

Glucosides’ is our pick from the release. A masterclass in tension, effervescent rhythms are cloaked in disconcerting atmospherics. Deployed at the right moment, this one’s sure to cause pandemonium on the dancefloor.

‘Glucosides/AYY + Tokyo’ is scheduled for release 16 March via Left, Right & Centre. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
