Premiere: Stelee-Up – Waiting For You (Fabrizio Mammarella Rework)

French label and collective Pardonnez-nous are keenly aware of the countless number of gems that are ripe for revival and reappraisal. The first few releases that they’ve reissued have also been remixed and remastered, efforts for which we should indeed be thankful.

The latest of their choice cuts takes us back to 1984. In the Northern Italian town of Cremona, a number of influential musicians came together to record under the name Stelee-Up. The result was the infectious ‘Waiting For You’, which has since become a sought-after record for many Italo fans.

In typical form, Pardonnez-nous have lovingly attended to the reissue of ‘Waiting For You’. The remastered version of the track is paired with reworks by two contemporary Italo favourites: Flemming Dalum and Fabrizio Mammarella. Our pick is Fabrizio’s slamming instrumental rework which really turns up the chug.

‘Waiting For You’ is scheduled for release 14 February via Pardonnez-nous. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
