Premiere: Stranjah & Fox – Inya (DJ Madd Remix)

Today’s premiere is a turn towards the peak-time days of UK garage – courtesy of the US, UK and more intriguingly, Hungary.

It all starts with Stranjah – a North American drum and bass veteran who has released on the likes of Hospital Records and Metalheadz, now issues the versatile ‘Monkfruit’ EP on Worst Behavior.

Whilst Stranjah flexes his already expansive production prowess with the likes of TT The Artist and OAKK on this massive release, it’s his track ‘Inya’ with Manchester-based vocalist Fox that hits a bit different; specifically when DJ Madd flips it on its head, two-stepping in tow.

The Detroit-via-Budapest bass maven takes a rhythmically tantalising original track that hones in on the inviting tones of Fox addressing the dancefloor and transports it to the heyday of Twice As Nice two decades back – complimenting Fox’s flow with a memorable bass line that trickles between the shuffling percussion in crisp fashion. Take a listen yourself and remember not to dance too hard.

‘Monkfruit’ is out now on Worst Behavior. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
