With two decades of notable releases by Hamburg-based producer Sven Kacirek, Giegling producer map.ache and American post-punk band Xiu Xiu, Leipzig-based record label Altin Village & Mine prepare to release ‘Flows‘, a recollection of high-spirited sounds from the Teichmann‘s lineage.
Following previous appearances on legendary Kompakt and Soundway Records, siblings Andi Teichmann and Hannes Teichmann – better known as Gebrüder Teichmann – join forces with their father Uli Teichmann, an 80-year-old multi-instrumentalist. Since 2012, the trio have conducted several dubbed-out experiments emphasised with strains of avant-garde jazz and psych-kraut. Their debut effort, ’Flows‘, is a timeless artefact of 9 ballads poised to go head-to-head with other intergenerational alliances.
Our pick from the release is ‘Danubo‘ – a subaquarian tribute to Regensburg, the trio’s motherland. Infused with dripping arpeggios, crammed bassline and broken beat rhythms, the track will guide you through the turbulent Danube river waters.
‘Flows’ is scheduled for release on 20th October via Altin Village & Mine. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
