Premiere: Tristan Arp – Web

We last heard from Brooklyn-based imprint Human Pitch earlier this year, with the release of GALTFaculty’s gritty, ramshackle house debut “E B O W”. Returning two months later with an equally inspired first offering is their newest signing Tristan Arp.

Pipeline’ is a four-track debut from a fledgling producer with a distinctive sound, a collection of “biomorphic techno” that swerves between elastic funk and playful sound design. While its stuttered rhythms and subterranean frequencies are most definitely club-ready, there’s a serious individualist edge to the production that pegs this one as more than just a dancefloor release, ripe for headphone exploration.

Today we’re excited to be sharing an exclusive premiere of a killer cut from the EP. Closing track ‘Web’ is stretched masterfully out over 10 minutes of nuanced micro-percussion and warped synthesis, taking its sweet time to build a long-form proto-garage banger that makes expert use of silence and space in its 2-step-indebted rhythms. This release is said to be the first in a series of EPs on the way Tristan Arp this year, and if this one’s anything to go by, we’re eagerly awaiting what else is in the pipeline.

Pipeline is scheduled for release 18th May 2018 via Human Pitch, order a copy from Bandcamp.
