Following their ninth release named ZEN, mysterious German imprint MASK line up the final edition to their vinyl-only Untitled 12-inch series, cementing an exceptional slab on live hardware jams, all recorded to tape.
Uninterested in unveiling the identity of their artists, there is a certain quality to MASK that has a broad appeal while not compromising an underground sensibility. In this case, it’s hard not to be attracted to the raw tenacity of this release named Seninn.
Spread over 6 tracks, ‘MSK 10‘ explores an array of sounds – glitchy textures, lo-fi house, peak time techno, floaty arpeggios, ample supplies of droning bass. However, our pick ‘A2‘ is the pièce de résistance. A punchy lo-fi house groove powered with hazy looped vocals takes you on a trip that gets better, time after time, feeling like it’s been lifted from the heyday of producers such as Delroy Edwards and Florian Kupfer.
‘MSK 10’ is scheduled for release 16 December via MASK. Order a copy form Deejay.de.
