Following several releases from legendary DJ and producer Laurent Garnier, French bass sensation LB aka Labat and Rhythm Section’s affiliate Prequel, Paris-based imprint COD 3 QR line up the debut album ‘Richer Sound‘, courtesy of UK sound engineer, activist and producer Roshan Chauhan – better known as Works Of Intent.
After previous appearances on Laurent Garnier and Scan X’s label COD 3 QR, REKIDS and Italian imprint Obscura – Works Of Intent delivers his first LP effort, an amalgam of previously released tracks and six techno thor hammers. After establishing himself as the leading ambassador of the South Indian diaspora platform Daytimers, the producer explores the sound aesthetics of rave auditoriums.
Our pick is ‘Add New Ones‘ – a vaporous techno cut laced with stormy synths and obscure room frequencies. In the second half, a calypso-style steel drum amplify the tune perfectly. You won’t find anything less than a quality sonic escape envisioned for colossal venues.
