The latest episode of our sister mix series features an up-and-coming sub-sonic stalwart from Madison, Wisconsin’s very own, Sam Link.
The Wisconsin wunderkind made an instant impression with his ‘Hesitate‘ six-tracker, released on the impeccable Yuku imprint based out of Prague a few week ago, emboldening his stature as a burgeoning bass producer by making the best out of limited time.
Sam Link was juggling a full-time job and intense home life around making tracks, and decided that the process would be more efficient if he decided to piece it out into 20-30 minutes spurts of work. Needless to say, it worked; as the process kept things fresh and had him approach making the tracks with a flourish that stayed consistent throughout the narrative of ‘Hesitate’.
Thankfully – that same flourish is something he parlayed onto his guest mix for Newtype Rhythms, which starts at 38 minutes in. As per usual, resident Sheepshead warm things up in the interim with bass-bin hijinks.
