The Glove That Fits has announced a new initiative aimed to explore four of the worlds leading visual artists and producers, inviting them to each hold down a 3-month residency at the Hackney-based music venue.
Set to launch in March, Global Design Residency is a year-long project aimed to combine innovative visuals with boundary-pushing music. During the residency, designers and producers will collaborate to create an interconnected story for monthly lineups. The venue will be kitted out with wall-mounted monitor screens, allowing each artist to exhibit works old and new.
Adult Swim animator Philip Rugo will present a self-scored and suitably off-kilter video piece, whilst Melbourne-based visual artist Nic Hamilton, who has previously worked with Actress, Boothroyd, Lukid and Night Slugs, will immerse the venue into his post-modern and hyper-glossy futurist worlds.
Thomas Traum and Irish producer J Colleran take control with their abstract video works from September to November and Australian installation artist Tristan Jalleh and Afrodeutsche close out the residency from December to February 2020.
