Thomas Ragsdale digs through lost archives for Newtype Rhythms

Newtype Rhythms rolls into 2019 with an emotionally effective guest mix from Yorkshire’s very own Thomas Ragsdale; a versatile artist whose sounds have been heard throughout commercials, films and most notably, on Adam Curtis’ critically-acclaimed documentary HyperNormalisation.

Ragsdale’s previous works have learned towards the delicate tones of ambient and electronica, but with his latest release, entitled ‘The Pentagram’ – he injects a more eerie, encapsulating sense of urgency into his sounds with him adding more dancefloor-centric elements to his pieces. The three-tracker will be released on Soundtracking The Void, a label co-run by both Thomas and Ahsleigh Ragsdale, and is available to purchase today (18th January 2019).

To commemorate this, Ragsdale has put together a very special guest mix for Newtype Rhythms named as “Lost Archives” – a mix of wholly original music made specifically for this show; a swath of emotional ups-and-downs with a transcendent coda to boot.

The Pentagram is out now, grab a copy from Bandcamp.
