Music Video: тпсб – Paris CDG

Hot on the heels of his excellent debut album ‘Sekundenschlaf‘, freshly out via Blackest Ever Black, Russian producer тпсб steps up on Noorden with ‘Paris CDG‘, a curious two-track hybrid tape of airport-recorded field takes and stripped-back electronics.

Spacious and weirdly hypnotic, the 15-minute long ‘Paris CDG‘ (for Paris’ international airport Charles De Gaulle, source of the present field recordings) blends on-spot-taped multilingual hall announcements with delayed percussions, reverb-drenched whispers and monotonous textured pads before the track eventually capsizes into slow-dissolving acidic waters in the home stretch.

To illustrate the track, a short film was put together from fragments of images caught in the airports of Paris, Toulouse, Dortmund and Münster. From the departure lounge to the tarmac onto the rails, this video tells a lenitive story of wait and ennui, spent in between ports of call. Watch it below.

Paris CDG is out now via Noorden, order a copy from Bandcamp.
