Taken from his forthcoming album ‘Flamagra‘, Flying Lotus’ music video “Fire is Coming” casts the viewer into a dystopian nightmare as a group of ‘lost boys’ dressed in animal furs, fight and scramble around an apartment until an alarm rings out forcing them to sit down and pay attention as a decrepit fox emerges from the shadows in a wheelchair.
What happens next will rekindle memories of the insane, crack-addicted syringed-fingered Crack Fox that featured in Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding’s legendary TV series The Mighty Boosh.
However in this case, the fox is as an outer skin for human host David Lynch to tell a story to the children about washing away a black substance, and to proclaim that a fire is coming. Watch the video below.
lala’Flamagra’ LP is scheduled for release 24 May 2019 via Warp Records.
