Mark the date – on Friday 29 November, London-based collective DIY join forces with San Fran’s finest imprint Dark Entries to celebrate a decade of Josh Cheon’s record label at The Glove That Fits in Hackney.
Having amassed over 250 releases, Josh Cheon has established Dark Entries as one of the globes most surprising and impressive platforms for releasing and reissuing music that veers off the beaten path and has ultimately become a canonical figure for underground sound lovers.
To commemorate the occasion, Josh Cheon will bring his inimitably diverse, genre-bending DJ skills to The Glove That Fits for a deejay set that promises to teem with a broad array of synth-pop, wave, EBM, post-punk, electro and other off-piste oddities – bound to take guests into the twilight zone.
Expert eerie, post-apocalyptic jams pusher John T. Gast – previously heard on Blackest Ever Black, Planet Mu, Trilogy Tapes, as well as his own 5 Gate Temple portal – completes the bill. Eschewing predictions and prejudices, the British producer has laid the foundation to a weird but compelling body of work, exploring the blurred-out fringes between rhythmic and beatless electronics through hauntingly strange, brooding contemplations.
