On Thursday 12 December, the fifth and final edition of Exercises on Displacement will take place at FOLD in Canning Town, East London.
The evening will feature a unique collaboration between CURL and TQS collectives, presenting for the very first time ‘The Act Of Listening‘, a site-specific original multimedia opera piece. Split into three acts; Empathy, An Ode, The Act Of Listening – will all be performed live with acoustic and electronic instrumentation and video. Capitol K and Elena Colombi will open and close the event.
In addition Elena Colombi will curate a 12 hour live stream in collaboration with Dutch platform SO&SO investigating ‘Exercises on Displacement’ with a program of discussions, interviews, and exclusive content.
This event marks the fifth edition of a five-part series, curated by Tutto Questo Sentire, an artist-run platform that brings together a group of international researchers to reflect and explore their own personal practices in relation to the experience of sound. TQS was founded in 2014 by visual artist Rebecca Salvadori, experimental opera singer Olivia Salvadori and composer / cellist Sandro Mussida.
Exercises on Displacement is co-produced by Thirty Three Thirty Three and is supported by Arts Council England, the Italian Institute of Culture and Roberto Lombardi. Inverted Audio is an official media partner.
