Throughout 2017 Work Them Records label boss Spencer Parker released a three part series ‘Different Shapes And Sizes‘ aimed to showcase his love for different shades of house and techno. This was followed up in January 2018 with the first of a three part remix package featuring DJ Deep, Akirahawks and Setoac Mass.
Scheduled for release 23rd February, ‘Different Shapes & Sizes Remix EP 02‘ presents the second remix package, featuring punchy remixes from Berlin based producer Rising Sun, Sex Tags Mania co-founder DJ Fett Burger (as Fett Birger) and Belgrade techno selector Tijana T.
Having invited Rising Sun to play at our stage “Campfire Headphase” last summer at Farr Festival 2017, we are more than aware of Steffen Laschinski’s talent for creating stunning breakbeat inflected deep house. For this record he takes over the complete A-side of the release presenting two hypnotic sounding variations of ‘Riff Shapes’.
Today we are happy to offer a first listen of “Riff Shapes (Rising Sun Remix Two)” – a heavy hitting reshape of the original that is sure to get the heart beating and the fists pumping. With a forthcoming live appearance at Panorama Bar on 24th March, Rising Sun is finally getting the attention that he deserves.
Keep a look out for the third remix package landing later this year, featuring contributions from Rekids label boss Radio Slave, Nic Fanciulli and anonymous Berlin-based trio Italojohnson.
