Following our premiere of U’s “We Decide Who Comes In” EP in May, German producer and L.I.E.S. affiliate Florian Kupfer has announced the release of his “Explora” EP through Ninja Tune’s sister imprint Technicolour Recordings on July 24th 2015.
The four-tracker shows a much darker facet to Kupfer’s praised house sounds. Unfolding straight stomping 4 / 4 kicks over continually darkling and twisted machine meanders, the EP delivers some asphyxiating dubby techno cuts.
Following his much talked-about “SAD Edit 01” and said to be inspired by the “solace of Berlin winter, dormant emotions following the 9 / 11 attacks and psychedelic experimentation“, Explora is another demonstration of Kupfer’s elusiveness. Appreciators of the Swere collab (aka Kupfer + Ngly), get ready.
