FOLD present Afrodeutsche (live), Alienata, DJ Deep, London Modular Alliance (live), Voicedrone

On Friday 31 May, FOLD bring the heat to London with a lineup spanning electro, techno and breakbeat, featuring live sets from Afrodeutsche and London Modular Alliance and DJ sets from Alienata, DJ Deep and FOLD resident Voicedrone.

Afrodeutsche is the production alias of Henrietta Smith-Rolla, a British born Ghanaian/Russian/German composer, producer and DJ based in Manchester. Her productions cross a wide range of styles including classical solo piano, techno, house and electro. With just one release to her name, albeit on legendary imprint Skam – Afrodeutsche is without doubt an artist that demands your attention.

Spanish-born, Berlin-based Alienata is a self-described sound obsessive whose sets span obscure electro, acid, dub, IDM, dark wave, techno and industrial. Check out her 808 driven track ‘Memory‘, released last year via Discos Atónicos.

London Modular Alliance

Since his beginnings on BNO as The Deep with Julien Jabre 20 years ago, DJ Deep has never quite settled down to a single sonic footprint. Spanning the gap between techno’s roaring implements, sample-heavy house and funk-infused delicacies, his music rapidly gained iconic importance in the French underground scene.

London Modular Alliance (pictured) is a live electronic act from London – composed of Pip Williams, Koova, Yes Effect. They run a synth shop in Hackney Wick named ‘London Modular‘ – so it goes without say sign that these guys know exactly how to get the best out of their gear.

Ahead of the event, watch our new film “Inside Fold” directed by Rebecca Salvadori.
