Berlin-based producer Hüseyin Evirgen lines up his second solo album as Magna Pia on Inland’s Counterchange imprint.
One half of Cassegrain – together with Rhyw – Hüseyin Evirgen is a classically trained composer and producer whose psychedelic productions range from abstract, shamanistic ambience to metallic modern techno via transcendent chord sequences, crisp IDM and modulated drone electronics.
Spanning 8 tracks, ‘QUT‘ presents Magna Pia’s most complete and advanced body of music to date, weaving a dense narrative of drone, figurative synthesis, bass-heavy electronica and abstract techno, resulting in an album of meticulous dimensions.
The word ‘Qut’ is an ancient positive affirmation, in one short word encompassing all that is sacred, pure and good. The Old Turkic term meaning not only ‘good fortune’ and ‘joy’, but in shamanic circles, the ‘wonder of the heavens’, permeates the roots of Evirgen’s multi-heritage history.
‘QUT” is scheduled for release on 31 March via Counterchange. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
