Romain Poncet is a man of many names. As Traumer, he’s one of house music’s most recognisable exports; through a string of lesser-known aliases, he’s quietly built out the rest of his musical personality. Now, as Marion Poncet, he’s ready to share the most intimate side of that picture with his debut album, The Raging Swells Crushing The Cliff Of My Love, landing on Smallville’s Fuck Reality sub-imprint this September.
Where Traumer deals in dancefloor discipline, Marion Poncet is the outlet for something more personal. Written during a period of longing, the album spreads eight tracks of thoughtful, crunchy deep house across two records — a full-length statement that Poncet says found its natural home on Fuck Reality, a label built precisely for music like this.
The album was mastered by Lopazz at Mixmastering, cut to vinyl by Helmut Erler at Lathesville, and wrapped in full cover artwork from illustrator Stefan Marx.
